About me

As soon as I made my mind up to become a garden designer, I wanted to magically turn into one over night. I had this mini epiphany after deciding to leave my career working in Advertising in London, that making a possible living from designing people’s gardens sounded rather wonderful. It’s as though gardening kind of found me when I was desperate to channel my creative ideas into something new. I nervously attempted to transform our little courtyard garden (in London at the time) and I quickly began to enjoy my new found hobby. Deep down, I secretly had a feeling that one day I would love to design gardens.

So here I am, with my Garden Design diploma (finally!) under my belt from the Blackford Centre for Garden Design, incredibly I received a distinction, I’m now on my way to fulfilling my dream. Now, I might not have a portfolio bursting with completed design jobs (yet), but I do have a creative brain bursting with gardening design ideas.

Before I completed my diploma I had the fortunate experience in early summer 2014 to design a stand at RHS Chelsea for a brilliant sculptor, Chris Webb who was exhibiting there. This experience was invaluable and gave me such confidence in my chosen new career path. Whilst my career before designing gardens may have taken many twists and turns, I believe I have the varied amount of skills and experience to deliver the garden you desire. I will never profess to ‘knowing it all’ - far from it. Because I truly believe that when you want to get the best job done, you need to collide with the best brains and skills in the business to make it happen.

My true strengths lie in coming up with creative garden design ideas. So I will always need a team of people to bring these ideas to life. When I require hard landscaping help, I will recommend the best firm. When gardening lighting or a unique water feature needs building, again, I will work with those who know these areas inside out. I believe in tendering out my design to a selection of contractors, so that you receive the best deal. A short process that is invaluable as it often saves you a great deal of money.
